Pets

A pet is summoned from an item in your inventory and follows you around, and while it’s Active it gives you its talents, such as extra stats, a chance to dodge or a chance of double drops.

Gameplay

Checklist

  • The first pet comes from the Cute Balla quest (Flower Beauty, Lan Chow).
  • Talents only work while the pet is Active.
  • A summoned pet needs food. At 0 energy it loses intimacy.
  • Dying with a pet out costs it 10% intimacy.
  • Evolving needs 100% intimacy and an Enzyme.

Getting a pet

You can get a pet from two quests and from raid chests.

Balla (quest, level 1)

Flower Beauty in Lan Chow gives the quest Cute Balla. The quest log calls the NPC Mu Rong Hua.

  1. Talk to Flower Beauty and accept Cute Balla.

  2. Find the Balla Egg near Lan Chow and bring it to Flower Beauty.

  3. Collect 1 Big Balla's Plate from Big Ballas, 5 Monster Flower's Mud from Monster Flowers and 5 Big Snail Essence from Big Snails. All three monsters are outside Lan Chow. Each kill has a 20% chance to drop the item.

  4. Take the items to Flower Beauty, then talk to the NPC again until the egg hatches. The Balla goes into your inventory.

The video below shows the whole quest.

Remnant of Rei (quest, level 40)

From level 40, Flower Beauty also gives The Soul of Rei Descendants.

  1. Speak to the Fallen Rei God at the Mo Go Cave Entrance.

  2. Get back the clean silk a Sand Ranger stole and bring it to the Rei God.

  3. Collect 10 Rei Wings from Rei at the Mo Go Cave Entrance, 5 Rainy Bottles from Green Scorpions, 5 Lightning Bottles from Mausoleum Thieves and 1 Summoners' Bell from the Mo Go Spirit in Mo Go Cave Lv.1. Take them to the Rei God.

  4. Take the pet egg you receive to Flower Beauty.

  5. Find the Clear Water in a chest near Hua Chin Pool and bring it to Flower Beauty.

Summoning and the pet window

Double-click the pet's summon item in your inventory to summon the pet. Double-click it again, or press Seal in the pet window, to seal it.

The pet window appears while a pet is summoned.
The small window shows the Intimacy and Hunger bars. The full window has two tabs:

  • Status: stage, condition, intimacy and energy.

  • Pet's Info: inventory tabs and talents.

Its buttons are Seal, Active/Rest and Item, which opens the pet inventory.

Active and Rest

A new pet starts at Rest. Press Active/Rest to switch.

Energy use

Low

Active gains more intimacy for each point of energy, so Rest is only useful when you're low on food.

Rules

  • Only one pet can be summoned at a time.

  • After you seal a pet, you have to wait 30 seconds to summon again.

  • Remnant of Rei needs level 40. The other pets need level 1.

  • You can't start a Training Master training with a pet summoned.

Feeding

A summoned pet uses energy all the time. A sealed pet uses none.

Rest

Maximum energy depends on the pet and its stage, from 1,000 to 3,000 (see Pet list).

To feed the pet, double-click a pet food while the pet is summoned. Energy can't go above the maximum.

Dried Grass and Apples cost the same per point of energy. An Active pet eats $ 7,200 to $ 14,400 of food an hour.

Intimacy

Intimacy is shown in percent in the pet window. A new pet starts at 30% and the maximum is 100%. A pet needs 100% to evolve.

Gaining intimacy

Intimacy goes up every 10 seconds while the pet is summoned and has energy:

Dying to another player, in a tournament or in a Training Master training costs no intimacy. A sealed pet loses nothing when you die.

If a loss is larger than the pet's remaining intimacy, the pet dies. Below 10%, one death with the pet summoned is enough.

Death and reviving

Evolution

Pets have three stages. Each stage raises the pet's maximum energy and talents, and some pets also get more inventory tabs.

To evolve a pet you need:

  • 100% intimacy.

  • The pet sealed.

  • The Enzyme for the next stage. Flower Beauty in Lan Chow sells both.

Enzyme

Stage

Price

2nd Stage Enzyme

1 to 2

$ 200,000

3rd Stage Enzyme

2 to 3

$ 600,000

  1. Double-click the Enzyme to open the Pet Evolution window.

  2. Drag the pet's summon item into the slot.

  3. Press Confirm.

Evolution succeeds about 80% of the time.

  • Success: the pet goes up one stage, its energy is refilled and its intimacy goes back to 30%.

  • Failure: the Enzyme is used up and the pet loses 10% intimacy.

Stage 3 is the last stage. A stage 3 pet at 100% intimacy uses no energy.

Reviving a pet

A dead pet stays in your inventory but can't be summoned. To revive it, use the Reviving Potion for its stage:

Flower Beauty, Lan Chow: $ 10,000

2nd Stage Reviving Potion

3rd Stage Reviving Potion

Field bosses

Field bosses drop these potions only to players who dealt at least 10% of the damage.

  1. Double-click the potion to open the Pet Resurrection window.

  2. Drag the dead pet's summon item into the slot.

  3. Press Confirm.

A revived pet has full energy and 5% intimacy. At 5%, the next death with the pet summoned kills it again.

Pet inventory and equipment

Press Item in the pet window to open the pet inventory. It has 3 equipment slots and up to 3 tabs of 20 slots. The number of tabs you can use depends on the pet and its stage.

The pet inventory belongs to your character, not to the pet. Its items stay there when you switch pets, but you can only reach them while a pet is summoned, and only in the tabs that pet has.

Trading

Pets can be traded or sold from a stall like other items, with these rules:

  • The pet must be sealed.

  • Its intimacy must be at least 30%. Trading it costs 10%.

  • A raid chest pet can only be traded before its first summon, and loses no intimacy in that trade.

  • Pets can't be put in the Guild Warehouse.

A new Balla has exactly 30%. After one trade it has to reach 30% again before it can be traded again.
